Learning While Doing
Before this day ends, I want to say something to the caregivers who are figuring this out as they go.
I See You
I see you learning while doing.
Trying something that worked yesterday…
only to discover today is a completely different day.
I see you reading articles late at night,
Keeping what works.
Setting aside what doesn’t.
Saving things for later…
I see you discovering tricks and workarounds you never imagined needing.
Moving furniture.
Changing routines.
Answering the same question in three different ways until one finally lands.
I see you doing all of this without formal training.
Without a classroom.
Without a clear map.
Just learning moment by moment
If you’re figuring this out one step at a time…
I see you
learning while doing.
And it counts.

This reflection is part of the I See You series for dementia caregivers.
